The Gua Sha Collection

Gua Sha: "to scrape the sand" // dredging meridian stagnation  ~ pronounced ‘gwahshah’

The practice of Gua Sha is an East Asian treatment used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and beyond.

Primarily always used on the body to move Qi (energy) which can become blocked, the treatment is used to encourage lymph tissue drainage, relieve sore muscles, break down scar tissue and increase blood circulation; clearing stagnation. Traditionally a spoon or coin would have be used on the body in a scraping motion over any adhesions causing slight bruising to occur, sometimes known as microtrauma. This creates a response in the body that can help to break up scar tissue.

Over the last few years Gua Sha has been practiced on the face in a slightly different method using smoother crystal carved tools such as Jade to amplify the healing benefits of the practice. This technique is much more gentle and slow mostly using the flat, smooth side of the tool to tone and lift the skin whilst also promoting lymphatic drainage, increasing blood circulation and moving stagnant Qi (energy).

Gua Sha is a beautiful ritual to incorporate into your skincare routine after you have applied your morning or evening facial oil. Regular practice can provide significant benefits to the look, feel and health of your skin and overall wellbeing.

Below you will find a bespoke collection of tools I have designed and produced using some of my favourite crystals, each one with it's own benefits and properties. Each tool comes with a care and instructions card alongside videos posted to Instagram for you to follow and use the tool correctly and safely.
